About Ceylon Cinnamon
Ceylon cinnamon is native to Sri Lanka (Ceylon). Sri Lanka is the world’s largest producer of Ceylon cinnamon to the world. Other names: Cinnamomum zeylanicum Sp. Canela de ceilán Fr. Cannelle de Ceylan NL. Ceylon kaneel Ge. Ceylon-Zimt Sin. ලංකා කුරුඳු.
Ceylon cinnamon has a pale brown to slightly reddish color and is made up of multiple thin slivers of Cinnamon bark rolled into a cigar-shaped cinnamon stick. Ceylon cinnamon has a delicate, sweet flavor.
Ceylon cinnamon is the safest cinnamon in the world due to a lower level of Coumarin (0.017g/ Kg.) Ceylon cinnamon is graded according to diameter, number of whole quills, foxing, and cinnamaldehyde oil content.
